Smart plug overview

5 January 2021

Usually a smart outlet looks like a common adapter with a plug for standard installation and sockets used for plugging in the appliances. The interior structure is a bit more complicated and consists of a number of components. Let's look at the structure of the smart plug and the link between the functions and design of the device.

Functional design

The Power Link smart outlet combines simple clean design and functionality. Another important factor is the material of the device. It should be heat-resistant to avoid melting. The matte coating of Power Link is not only soft to the touch but also provides UL94-V0 flame retardancy.

Smart plugs of various brands can have different lighting — along the perimeter of the entire body or on the button only. Power Link offers an aluminum button with the indicator light showing the working modes and load levels.
