The IoT future belongs to Building Management Systems
Consumer requests are long ahead of the smart homes’ possibilities. The systems that allow not only to manage the premises but also help to automate the business processes are primarily taken into account.
According to the field specialists, the Internet of Things allows implementing numerous useful scenarios for managing residential and industrial premises. However, the currently presented solutions do not use all the benefits of technology available. In the future, manufacturers will abandon from the development of smart homes and switch to the full-fledged managing platforms with the control sensors and automation damage preventing mechanisms included.
"The Internet of Things has represented to the world the new companies as well as new business processes and new business models. Artificial intelligence, machine learning, augmented and virtual reality are representing the nowadays technical revolution. Over the past 2-3 years, «smart» things have become unnoticeably common. Barriers in urban courtyards and suburban areas are now opened not by the person, but by the simple application on the smartphone. In the same time, your smartphone fills in your payment details just scanning a QR code. You can control the temperature of the gas boiler through a mobile application. As we can see, there are so many examples of using these technologies in our everyday life. It means that transferring to the "Internet of everything” is the next "revolutionary" change that will take place", – the IoT market expert Alexander Vakhtin says.
We are currently at the point when the Internet of Things will allow not only receiving information from a specific set of sensors but will also make possible the centralized management of houses, buildings and even whole blocks. Users will collect data from the surveillance systems or the climatic equipment and be able to solve these problems automatically.
«We offer various scenarios for using our solutions. Perenio technicians were focused not only on effectively informing people about events related to their loved ones or property when developing our products, but also on the possibility of preventing any damage. Therefore, some special devices for automatically shutting off water and gas will appear in our lineup. It can be used together with other sensors to increase the level of fire security as well as to prevent leakage damage. We also plan to expand the capabilities of our information platform in the future by implementing the possibility of automatic notification to emergency services», - the Perenio IoT spol.s.o. Director of Business Development in Eastern Europe Andrei Kanayev comments on.
The IoT development is overgrowing, and some smart areas or even whole cities will appear in the next 5-10 years.
